Good governance and ethical social responsibility is an integral part of our business model. We seek to improve the world both through our commercial activity and through our non-business activities. Some examples are listed here.

1. Seagate recruited the foremost expert in government and corporate governance in Southeast Asia, Dr. Jesus Estanislao, as an advisor to promote good governance in Seagate’s activities, and in support of his Institute for Corporate Directors to help spread good governance in Asia.
2. Seagate is working with one of China’s largest tobacco companies to help them diversify into local green investments that will help improve China’s natural environment.
3. The Southeast Asia Food and Commodity Exchange is designed to reduce hunger and poverty in the Philippines and all Southeast Asia by advancing environmentally friendly state-of-the-art agricultural techniques and encouraging entrepreneurship and ownership. Seagate is helping SACFEI to make their vision become reality as advisor to the SACFEI Board.
4. Seagate is working to improve the quality of life in rural China and Southeast Asia through a program to bring inexpensive, environmentally friendly, advanced, American dirt road paving technology to those areas.
5. Seagate is working with ethnic minorities in Southwestern China to find practical ways to help their communities maintain their ethnic identities while enjoying the benefits of modern life.
6. One of China's national treasures is the Stone Forest. Seagate was appointed as international advisor to the Stone Forest to find ways to preserve this wonder for future generations.
7. Seagate is working with some of the world’s foremost experts in affordable, green housing to help house the poor in ways that minimizes the impact on the environment.
8. Seagate is actively supporting the peace process in the troubled Southern Mindanao area of the Philippines by working to expand trade and investment opportunities for Muslims there.
9. Seagate has been selected by the national water utility in the Philippines to help bring potable water to hundreds of remote villages.
